We’re looking for a Fullstack Software Engineer to join our growing Engineering & Cloud team. If you’re someone who thrives on autonomy, wants to lead software projects, and is passionate about building cloud-native applications with strong AWS foundations, this is your chance to make an impact. Beyond client projects, you’ll also be contributing to our internal AI marketplace, Highwind, where we build, deploy, and scale AI-driven solutions.

Job Description

The candidate will be consulting on client projects to build and deliver cloud-native application software. The candidate will be responsible for the development and deployment of the software. This includes designing and building new features, integrating into existing systems, and continuously improving the software solution. This requires the candidate to work closely with clients’ stakeholders, QA, operational, and data science teams to ensure features are reliably delivered.
Melio believes in nurturing cross-functional capabilities in our team, so you will need to work closely with other technical roles, such as business analysts, data scientists, DevOps engineers, and other software engineers either to observe or to assist.
This is a technical role, but due to the consulting nature of many of our projects, the candidate needs to be able to communicate effectively with both business and technical stakeholders.

What you will be working on

  • Cloud-Native Application Development – Design, build, and maintain fullstack applications deployed on AWS.
  • Backend APIs & Services – Develop robust backend services using Python (Django and FastAPI).
  • Frontend Web Applications – Build responsive user interfaces with React.
  • AI-Native Applications – Build applications that integrate LLMs, AI agents, and generative AI capabilities into production software.
  • AWS Integration – Leverage AWS services to build scalable, production-ready application architectures.
  • CI/CD Pipelines – Develop and maintain continuous integration and delivery pipelines for reliable software delivery.
  • Deploying solutions into our AI Marketplace – Build application features and integrations for our Highwind marketplace, a platform enabling businesses to access plug-and-play AI APIs.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work with data scientists, DevOps engineers, and business teams to translate requirements into shipped software

Qualification & Experience

Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Software Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.
  • 2+ years fullstack software development experience.
  • Strong backend experience with Python (Django and FastAPI), and frontend experience with React or Vue.js and TypeScript.
  • 2+ years hands-on AWS experience (e.g. EC2, ECS/Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, IAM).
  • Experience building cloud-native applications: APIs, microservices, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience building AI-native applications powered by LLMs, AI agents, and generative AI.
  • Strong software engineering practices: clean, maintainable, and testable code

 Nice to Have 

  • Proficient in: Python, TypeScript/JavaScript, SQL.
  • AWS Experience: Strong hands-on experience with core AWS services (EC2, ECS/Lambda, S3, RDS, API Gateway, IAM, etc.).
  • Backend: Experience building RESTful APIs and microservices with Django and FastAPI.
  • Frontend: Experience building web applications with React or Vue.js and TypeScript.
  • AI-Native Development: Experience in building applications powered by LLMs, AI agents, and generative AI.
  • Cloud-Native: Designing and building architectures using public cloud PaaS/IaaS, microservices, and APIs.
  • Containerisation: Competent with Docker and container technologies.
  • CI/CD: Experience with continuous integration and delivery methodologies, techniques, and tools.
  • Software Engineering Best Practices: Writing clean, maintainable, and testable code

Desired Skills

  • Experience contributing to open-source projects.

  • Start up, side project, or product development experience.

  • AWS certifications (e.g. Developer Associate, Solutions Architect).

  • Experience with AWS Bedrock and Bedrock AgentCore.

  • Experience with Kubernetes or other Cloud Native Computing Foundation technologies
